Oxfam talk at Rosies

This will be well worth seeing …

Phil Sparrow and his wife, Julie, worked for around eight years in

Afghanistan, starting under the Taliban in 1999. Together, they worked in
rural development programs focussed on improving the social and
economic position of very marginalised communities in remote parts of
Afghanistan. Phil also worked for the UN in humanitarian coordination, and
in 2008-9 set up Hagar Afghanistan, an organisation dedicated to assisting
victims of sexual slavery and trafficking.
Phil, his wife and three kids returned from Afghanistan in 2012 and Phil has
continued working in development programs with TEAR Australia. Phil has a
Masters in Development and several other degrees and in 2005 his book,
From Under a Leaky Roof, was published.
