A snapshot of development in Freo

This week felt like a good week for Fremantle with a real sense of things happening. There is a huge wave of new development applications coming through at a level I have not seen before. Some are early but exciting concepts while others are at the final point of the approval process like the former Energy Museum re-development which was approved by DAP this afternoon.

Then there are some like the 19 unit development ‘Established’ (Est.) on Pakenham St in the West End by Yolk Property which had their ceremonial breaking of the ground this week (I can’t help but like a silver shovel) and others like Heirloom which are now steaming ahead.

To give us a clearer sense at to where Fremantle is at, the economic development team at the City of Fremantle put together an interesting wrap on the Fremantle Herald today which breaks this down into some great info graphics. It is well worth a look.
