Live with less impact – One Planet Fest-a-Con 2015

I appreciate that deep down I am a bit of a sustainable development nerd but Fest-a-Con looks amazing even if you are not. Here is the new media release:

Live with less impact – One Planet Fest-a-Con 2015

  • 29 sustainable events across three weeks as part of Fremantle Festival (Australia’s oldest community festival)
  • Led by One Planet Council –  City of Fremantle
  • Key highlights include a two-day conference and international film festival
  • Features renowned international and local sustainability speakers and practitioners

An international film festival and an interactive two day conference are just a taste of what’s on offer at the inaugural One Planet Fest-a-Con event in Fremantle from 23 October until 8 November 2015.

A ‘festival within a festival’, Fest-a-Con will celebrate the City of Fremantle’s status as a One Planet Council with a wide range of sustainable living ideas through arts, talks, events, competitions, exhibitions, children’s activities, stalls and workshops.

The program forms part of Australia’s oldest community festival – the Fremantle Festival and is the biggest sustainability event ever undertaken in the port city, which is world-renowned for its trailblazing approach to high-impact sustainable solutions.

Key event highlights include the major two-day conference and WA’s first One Planet International Environmental Film Festival, with everyone welcome to attend.

“Community involvement in sustainable living is the key to change and the Fest-a-Con is the perfect platform for people to try new sustainable ideas, share experiences, challenges and business practices and see what change we can catalyse as a community,” said Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt.

Tickets for One Planet Fest-a-Con events are now available from the Fest-a-Con webpage.
