Bad Boy Bubba – new Freo business of the week.

On the weekend I had the pleasure of launching a rather unusual new Fremantle business – a funky, retro ice-cream van called Bad Boy Bubba.

Bubba is a circa 1958 Austin LD5  ice cream truck that has being fully rebuilt and fitted-out in O’Conner by Bubba’s Best Mate, Cathcart Weatherly.

Bubba’s second life as an ice cream van is in a very different style from his previous livery. While he will have some “relaxed and comfortable” Neapolitan-esque flavours you might recognise – for those willing to “walk on the wild side” you can have ice-cream topped in some extremely unconventional flavours like bacon, blue cheese, and onion jam and some even weirder concoctions.

I love this extraordinary and original concept: hipster ice-cream helping keep Fremantle a little weird.  Look out for Bubba on the streets of Fremantle soon.
