The True Cost Documentary and Ethical Fashion Show: Next week in Freo

Freo has been a fair trade council for many years and it is great to see the fair trade movement continue to grow and flourish. This year Fair Trade Freo and the WA Fair Trade Collective, co-organisers of Fairly Fashionable? are running two events during Fashion Revolution week. Through these events, they aim to shine a light on the global challenges of Fast Fashion and to inspire designers and consumers of a fairer, gentler way forward for fashion.

 

The True Cost Documentary and Ethical Fashion Show:

Thursday 21st April 6:30pm

– Learn who really pays for fast fashion with a film screening of the ground breaking documentary The True Cost

– Be inspired by the slow fashion revolution with a live ethical fashion show featuring:

  • Launch of Oxfam’s NEW ethical fashion collection
  • Anjel Ms Autumn/ Winter 16 collection
  • BHALO
  • Rana Clothing & Textile Trails

When? Thurs April 21st, doors open 6:30pm, movie starts 7pm, fashion show 8:30pm

Where? Fremantle Navy Club 64 High Street, Fremantle. Fully licenced bar and food available for purchase.

Ethical Fashion: The Norm, not the Niche

Sunday April 24th (Fashion Revolution Day) 4:15pm

Fashion is the second most polluting industry in the world. Join this panel discussion by Perth fashion experts as they debate ethics and the fashion industry. Gain an understanding of Perth’s fashion industry to discover what we can do to make ethical fashion the norm, not the niche.
