From the director of ‘Boy’ and What We Do In The Shadows, Taika Waititi, comes a cross-country comedy adventure based on Barry Crump’s popular book. Ricky Baker (Julian Dennison) is a very bad boy with a rap sheet almost as long as the list of foster homes he’s left in his wake. Transported deep into New Zealand’s picturesque countryside to live with Bella (Rima Te Wiata) and her grumpy husband Hec (Sam Neill), Ricky soon finds the environment agrees with him. When unexpected circumstances strike, the reformed delinquent disappears into the wilderness to evade Child Services and the likelihood of spending the rest of his childhood in ‘juvie’.
