Slow down on Wray Ave

The speed limit through the busy Wray Avenue shopping precinct around Galati’s is set to be reduced to 40 kilometres per hour.

Acting on feedback from local residents and businesses, the City of Fremantle applied to Main Roads for the speed reduction more than a year ago.

Combined with the traffic calming devices installed in 2015, the reduced speed limit will help to improve safety and amenity along the popular shopping and café strip.

The new 40km/h limit will apply between South Terrace and Carnac Street from 18 September.

This will see Wray Ave become an even more attractive urban village. There’s a great community feeling in that neighbourhood and slowing cars through that section will add to the safety and amenity of the area.

Nice to see the local business owners from Franks and Galati’s giving it the thumbs up too.

Please remove the speed humps now, They were put in place to slow cars down. Now that the speed limit has been reduced the speed humps should be removed. Thank you.
